If a particular page on an Internet site doesn't load for some reason or in case a link is broken, the website visitor will see an error page with some generic message. The page shall have nothing in common with the rest of the website, that can make the visitor leave your Internet site. A possible solution in such a case is a feature offered by some hosting service providers - the ability to set up your own customized error pages which will have identical design as your site and that can contain any text or images that you'd like based on the particular error. There are 4 common errors which could occur and they involve the following so-called HTTP status codes - 400, when your Internet browser sends a bad request to the web server and it cannot be processed; 401, if you are supposed to log in to see some web page, but you have not done this yet; 403, if you do not have a permission to view a particular page; and 404, in case a link that you have clicked leads to a file which doesn't exist. In any of these situations, visitors shall be able to see your personalized content rather than a generic error page.
